I can't remember, was it printing something a tad untrue?

He printed pics of something which was later shown to be faked.

May have been prisoner abuse in Iraq?

Carmenere · 22/07/2006 09:31

Yep he printed pictures of prisoners being tortured in Iraq which were then proved to be fake. Unfortunately real pictures emerged a couple of weeks later. There are implications that he was stitched up.

Why Suzy?

suzywong · 22/07/2006 09:34

just one of those questions that pops up from no where

thanks

Have you read his book? It's a really, really good read.

suzywong · 22/07/2006 09:36

no, what's it called, I 'll see if my local Library has it?

The Insider, totally unputdownable, full of political and celeb gossip from his time as tabloid editor.

Thanks

It is a fab book. He was sacked over the wrong thing though - printed the pics in good faith and even though they were fakes, there was abuse going on.

He didn't get the sack over his dodgy share dealing - the City Slicker columnists were prosecuted for insider dealing (one of them went to prison IIRC) but Piers got off after internal investigation, press complaints commission and fraud office investigation. It later emerged that he misled all bodies about how many shares he'd bought.

He's very entertaining, though.

he's VERY flirty

Carmenere · 22/07/2006 11:27

I think he is one of those men who is not very good looking but dead sexy, serious twinkle in his eye! Clever and arrogant and I would love to go for a long lunch with him, I'd say he would be a really good laugh.
