I saw a huge brown cat in someone's garden. Huge, as in bigger than a spaniel. It had really short fur and a curly tail, but I only saw the back of it so can't say about the front.

I haven't told anyone, because let's face it, who would believe me?

dh's parents used to have a poodle that was so fat it looked like a cross between a sheep and a piano stool

colditz · 20/07/2006 19:39

I stood there for ages waiting for it to come out of the bush, but it didn't.

It was deffo feline, could tell by the way it moved. Not a lynx, it was chestnut coloured.

In leicestershire

BettySpaghetti · 20/07/2006 19:44

You do get some freakishly big domestic cats.

There used to be a huge black one near where we used to live -we nicknamed him The Beast of Bodmin.

MerlinsBeard · 20/07/2006 19:45

was wondering that too but i just watched the news and tehres a monkey escaped (lost) from surrey zoo called Sponge Bob

Could it have been hugely pregnant? Main Coon cats are huge but they're usually longhaired I think. Google Rex cat breeds, they have funny short thick hair.
We have stag beetles in our garden, they're bl**dy terrifying

neena28 · 20/07/2006 19:57

There has been rumours of a large cat around here for ages. Are in in south leics by any chance. We are and have heard loads about it from the farmer we know.

colditz · 20/07/2006 21:46

Am in North Leicesershire - between Leicester and Nottingham.

It wasn't the width of it that struck me, it was the height. I am sure its back would have come up to my knee.
