they belong to someone who lived here when they were married in 1990. The envelope had my address but no name - what should i do with them and they seem to have been sent by either the student loans company or bournemouth council. I am reluctant to send them back as if they belonged to me i would be most annoyed that they had been sent to someone else - so how can i trace the people and tell them what happened so they can mke a formal complaint if they want to

they might be on the electoral roll

try the phone book if they have an unusual name. But what are the chances of them still being in the area 16 years later ?

You could try on 192.com (you have to pay for that, though -- I have a subscription and would search for you but I don't know the names) which would get you a recent address easpecially if they are still married as then you know you are looking for a household with both a John and an Ethel Bloggs in it.

Try a search under people section on www.b4usearch.co.uk.

I'm sure they will be very relieved when they get the documents back!

You could drop a postcard to the others asking them to get in touch with you if they are the right couple?

fgs, just for a moment there I thought I might find my marriage certificate that the passport office lost for me!!! Ah well. I am sure they will be delighted, my missing docs are causing all sorts of probs for me and identification purposes.
