can you put a baby seat in the front of a car (10mo old)

it has no airbag...

Or is it much safer to stay in the back? A friend is trying to find some info out for her DD, she couldnt find on google and the DVLA didnt know the law (or so the operator on the phone said)!

i checked this out a couple of years ago - cant remember where i got information (think it was one of those AA car seat roadshows) and they said even if passenger seat hasnt got an airbag which is a big no no that it is much safer for a car seat to be in the back - forward or rear facing HTH !

You can have them in the front but the safest place is in the back, in the middle.
