love my employers but hating my job as Manager! help

I have been in my position since the end of last year, I relished the opportunity of being a manager but I have had so much crap to deal with and I feel exhausted. I really like my employers but its starting to shadow our friendship because I don't think I can do it but I can't afford to leave and lose my good salary. anyone else in or been in this situation?
Can't face the whole looking for another bloody job again!

Oh, I sympathise. What is it exactly that is wrong with your job and do you think there is anything your employers could change to make it better? Is it an impossible job, or do you not have the right skills (in which case training would be the obvious answer)?

I was given a huge list of things they wanted me to start providing as a service, most of which I have done and they have said in the past it is exactly what they wanted etc etc. today I was told that my dept was costing the business too much money and it was only suposed to be an extra part of the service, its not actually what the company is all about.......the other dept is, I guess i felt completely demoralised and especially as it was in a management meeting in front of the other dept manager.I am suposed to be working part time as I have a toddler and I have worked on average up to 10 hours a week over my hours ever since i started and I was so angry that i got up and sai "if thats how you feel after all my efforts and thats what you want from theis dept then you don't need me and so I will look for another job then"
