Are some music download sites not compatible with all MP3 players?

isn't it that ipods will only play stuff from itunes, and pretty much everybody else uses normal mp3s, which all other mp3 players can play?

wt do u have? It says that ipods aren't compatible with it. It all looks rather strange to me. I either use itunes or download to my computer and thne put it on my pod manually. You don't have to use itunes for a pod.
