DD2 has painted a glass bottle and wants to fill it with jelly sweets, but her teacher always refuses them because she's vegetarian.

There are some in Holland and Barrett, I forget what they are called. Is it a present for the teacher? Why not buy her a sort of sweet she likes, instead of jelly sweets?

you will find that some of Thorntons jelly-type sweets are veggie

There are loads made with wheat glucose - I know this because I can't eat wheat! Co-op would be a good place to start.

You can get them in health food shops - but they are very expensive (well they are in our local shop).
My children are veggie so I spent a lot of time searching.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure jelly tots are veggie nowadays - seem to remember noticing, and thinking about the effect the sugar would have on ds, and putting them back on the shelf

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's Do....Organic - quite new in this country. They do gummy bears, gummy feet, black licorice bears, super sour bears, ginger gummy guys (hot!), also chocolate/coloured sprinkles. All veggie and natural colours/flavours. Try health food shops.
There are also some others (bears and fruit pastilles), made by Lyme Regis I think.

Will read this in a moment - thank you! At the moment there's something more pressing I want to ask you about.

Thank you!! dd1's taken her jar with her sweets in today ('though I think she should have waited 'till Friday). Got them from Holland and Barrat (a place I rarely frequent, full of nuts and fat-making stuff)!
