I want a holiday from my children

They've both been sick all week and I'm also not well but don't get a break. The constant crying, battling to get them to eat, fighting with each other - I am about to lose my mind.

I just want to lie on a sun lounger with a book and spend time doing nothing - not getting up to break up a fight or empty a potty or get a snack or entertain or play with toys. I just want to be on my own.

God I wish I had family living in the country so that I could palm them off just once in a while. Sorry for the moan

Me too! They've been driving me to distraction this week. ds is sick, and dt2 is teething. dd is in an annoying mood and winding ds up all day long. Last night I ended up going out alone for a nice long walk, but I'm wondering how I'm going to get through the next four weeks until our holiday. Will your dp have them to give you a break? I'm going out for a while tomo, jsut to get away from them all for a few hours.

know how you feel j&j - no family here. Other kids from school are with their gran or rels & parent/s having a break.

Do you get other mums bringing their kids round to play & then it being hours they are with you whilst mum has even more timeout?
