Help! I need to produce a "story character" costume - by Tuesday!

DS's nursery told me today that I need to provide him with a costume (any story character) for their end of term concert next Tuesday. A bit of notice might have been nice!

Tempting as it is to just send him in his normal gear and say he's Horrid Henry I'm not sure anyone would quite get it! So I need ideas for quick and easy, but identifiable story character costumes.

Harry Potter - wizard's hat and wand with a cloak/sheet with stars on it wrapped round his shoulders

Little Prince? ( or for that matter any prince/king):

A big rectangle of gold or purple cloth for the cloak, turn over one short end to make a tunnel and push a cord through it to tie around the neck. If you like, glue fake fur around the other edges. Make a crown out of cardboard, cut a strip, cover with tin foil, staple ends together.

Burglar Bill - stripy shirt, mask (which could be a cardboard one) and swag bag.

My ds went as Mr Bump this week. Very easy - i just dressed him in blue clothes (found the perfect blue t-shirt in tesco for £1!). Then wrapped bandages around his tummy and his head. He won his class competition!
