Mothercare had a pink one when I went to look for a booster for my 3 yr old dd, she loved it, but I didn't want it in my car - luckily for me it was out of stock - you may love it though...

Here's the link \link{http://www.mothercare.com/invt/la0192&bklist=icat,5,shop,shotravelpushchairs,tracarseats,carboosters}

Ooops! Sorry the link didn't work

NannyL · 13/07/2006 21:44

Do you mean you have her in not in a child seat already (or have i misunderstood!)

It is NOT recommended that children use a booster cuhion along until about 6 years old (ora minimum of 22kg)

the seats that offer most protection (especially to a 3 year old, where its SOOO importnat to protect their fast growing bones etc) are booster SEATS... ie with a back

Im sure ive seen a pink cover for the britax Highliner... whic is a seat that goes from 15kg - 36kg.... ie protects an 11 year old as well.

I cant remember where i saw it.... but there was an england cover on the same site!

A 3 year old really needs to be in a proper seat to be safe (and lets face it most 3 year olds DO still fit in group 1 seats anyway, though you obvioulsy wouldnt by a new one for a 3 year old!)

Just got dd the Graco junior with butterflies

Wallace · 13/07/2006 21:53

Sorry just realised it says from age 4.

cece · 13/07/2006 21:58

so before 4 they are not supposed to be in a booster seat???? oh dear

cece · 13/07/2006 22:02

just found this from dept of transport

Group 0 and Group 0+. These are baby seats - rear-facing and for children up to 10 kgs and up to 13 kgs respectively (approx age birth to 9-12 months);

Group I. Child seats - forward facing and for children 9 kgs to 18 kgs (approx 9 months to 4 years);

Group II. Booster seats - for children from 15 kgs to 25 kgs (approx 4 to 6 years), or 15kgs up to 36 kgs);

Group III. Booster cushions - for children from 22 kgs and up to 36 kgs (from approx 6 years).

So even though ds is 2 his weight means he should be in group III....

Wallace · 13/07/2006 22:03

cece - some booster seats are differnt - dd's old one said from nine months with an adult seatbelt

Wallace · 13/07/2006 22:05

Sorry that was in reply to your first message

I meant ds' old booster seat so that was about 5 years ago

cece · 13/07/2006 22:06

Thnaks for that - he grew out of his stage I one just after he turned two. I meant to say he is now in stage II not III! a big boy see and tall so have always struggled to fit in him relevant equipment. Baby bath lasted 3 weeks

Bozza · 13/07/2006 22:08

You see wallace I don't think that is right. My sister has just bought one for my 18mo nephew that uses the adult seat belt and I am not happy about it. We have one for DS that can be used either with a 5 point harness and the car belt threaded through the back or as a booster seat which I think is OK although not great for a 9mo with regards to support for sleeping etc. We got this when DS was nearly 3 and his previous seat broke. It didn't seem worth getting a stage 1 but he wasn't ready for the next stage.

Wallace · 13/07/2006 22:11

cece - he is a big boy! I know what you mean bozza, thay can't be very safe at all for a baby that age.

Britax Hi-Liner comes in a fabric called "Paris - it's grey with pink pinstripes - I'll try to find a link to it. If you're lucky you may find a branch of Halfords that still has one for £40 (Half price) - most are now just coming in to Halfords in grey or black. My 3 year old dd is 102cm tall and it fits her OK, I got them to check in the shop.

i like that one hosue mum!
NannyL no..she had the one that was supposed to do her until she's 4 but shes too tall and deemed not unsafe.
when we went on hol i went to mothercare as i wanted something to use in taxi from airport and they showed me a booster cushion which fits all legal standards(up to now) that is from age 4 OR from 15kg..so according to them, perfectly ok to use..this is the one we have been using, with a seatbelt hight adjuster, but have been umming and ahhing about it..now i finally have the extra push to buy her a full seat ot just cushion!
