What's it done? For you to be proud of it I mean?

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 18:06

Just looks beautiful, and seems to drive my fellow MNetters mad!!!!

julienetmum · 13/07/2006 18:07

I wouldn't exactly say proud. I am not proud of any car I drive, I have no affinity with them but when I drive one it does it's job, gets me from A to B. A micra or a pick up truck or a white van (all of which I have driven) would do the same job.

Greensleeves · 13/07/2006 18:08

Hass it got fuck-off great bull bars on the front? Can it handle any terrain, on or off-road, from desert to Arctic?

I bet it looks bloody silly in a traffic jam outside Sainsburys

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 18:09

I am just fedup with being made to feel ashamed of driving my car because it is a 4x4 - thats why I am proud to be out in it!!

Gobbledigook · 13/07/2006 18:09

But they don't really look silly do they because there are so many of them now - they are just 'normal' cars. Round here anyway - can't speak for anywhere else.

pedilia · 13/07/2006 18:10

I love mine, fully justified as I tow my horsebox with it.

Twiglett · 13/07/2006 18:10

Twonk

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 18:10

Put your hands down FGS, concentrate on the road for a change

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 18:17

What, I am supposed to concentrate on the road - I wish someone had told me that, I am usually too busy applying more make-up and talking to my rugger-bugger dp on the phone!!

Looks beautiful

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 18:33

You should see him Countess - most beautiful car you would ever see!

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 19:01

god I would so not think so

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 19:09

I just think you are all jealous!!!

OP posts:
MissChief · 13/07/2006 19:20

you are joking! nothing to be jealous of, I'm afraid! Sure many of us who are critical could afford one if we wanted. BUt why would we waste money on such naff monstrosities? Too many nice places/restaurants/clothes shops to visit...

MissChief · 13/07/2006 19:24

in fact why not do a proportion on income spent on 4x4 type thing, if you like? wonder how many will dive under the covers..I think they're a sad symbol of aspiration ..not a symbol of having actually achieved success.

Walking through a carpark at a rather swish consultancy the other day, I noticed not one 4x4 but rather a lot of BMWs/Jags/Mercs/Ferraris...At least some people have money and taste

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 19:24

Not quite the same though when you turn up at such establishments in your VW Golf!!

OP posts:
Jazzi · 13/07/2006 19:25

Me think you doth protest too much Misschief!!

OP posts:
MissChief · 13/07/2006 19:26

actually don't really see cars as a symbol of success anyway. It goes far deeper than that and the most successful individuals might well be those in relatively lowly paid jobs who would then not be able to drive a swish car. Just wanted to make a point.

MissChief · 13/07/2006 19:27

sad, sad, sad. Do you really judge on that and think anyone is critical simply because they can't afford to buy one?

MissChief · 13/07/2006 19:28

..oh and careful, i might set dh on you (and his car is bigger than yours)
strange though, cuase I'm assuming you don't have a penis? mainly men who posture like this...

Caligula · 13/07/2006 19:29

Jazzi you haven't told us whether it's got a bull-bar on

Jazzi · 13/07/2006 19:31

Actually not at all, both my dp and myself both drive 4x4's. Dp is a farmer, and I drive one because we have to go off road alot due to where we live, and the weather in the winter can be rough. I just think it is really funny the reaction of people to others that drive a 4x4, you all assume an awful lot - my case in point this thread!!
