Hair straighteners?

Hi, can anyone recommend a good (but reasonable!) set of ceramic straighteners? My SIL has worked wonders on my mop with her GHD ones, but they retail at £85 or so, and I just can't justify that kind of expenditure at the mo (if ever )!
Please help! I just can't and won't return to previous unmanagable curlywurly-frizzball ever again!!

any suggestions for a styling product to use with my straighteners on my brown hair instead of sheer blonde? I love my (non-ceramic) straighteners but they do make my hair a bit dry at the bottom.

found this discuss completly by accident, so maybe you have too! I too was about to pay £98 for GHD straighteners but after reading this opted for GHS at £29.95 instead. Tried them out for the first time today - I'd been swimming and left my unruly wildly thick and wavy hair to do it's own thing. The straighteners tamed it in less than 20 minutes, without the aid of products, as impressively as my hairdresser does it!
So thanks guys for all the tips. I'm off now to buy some of the Keraste oil you all recommend too!!
