(Sort of) Earn a bit of cash

Not sure if I can post this, but its not doing MN any harm.

There is a web site call www.shopandscan.com Shop&Scan

All you do is register and they send you out a clicker, all you have to do is connect the clicker cable to your pc, click on your name from the cards they send, click on all the bar codes on your shopping weekly, then transmit them back at least once a week. when you get 10,000 you get a £10 gift voucher to use in high street stores.

Its simple really, because you do your shopping anyway, so you could take this with you and when you put something in your trolley click it first, there are a few things you cant do like fresh fruit, unless you click on a pre-packed one even if you get loose, then you click on the a barcode for the till receipt cost.

I'll leave it up to you guys, just thought I'd pass on this gem.

but dismissed it because it seemed like far too much work for £10!!!

If you have to scan 10,000 items for £10
Doesnt that mean you have to scan 100 to earn 1p

I received a cold call asking me to sign up for this so I imagine it is open to anyone - who is daft enough to want to bother!!!

You can only join by invite. I am a member of TNS as is my mum. She has had an invite but I haven't.

It is quite easy to collect points, I don't think it works out at strictly 1 point per item.

Oh I've heard of lots of these type things and tbh they're far too much hard work for far too little reward. and besides why is it they want this info. After all, they'll have your home address, know who you are, and will then also know exactly what you buy, in what quantity, and from where, sorry byt too big-brotherish to me.

So how do you get an invite to this thing then? any one know?
