We're hoping to move out to Farnham, or just outside, this year. What's it like to live there? Schools, hospitals (maternity), doctors, midwives? Are the people friendly? What's the shopping like? Are their plenty of mother and toddler groups?
Any info gratefully received.

This is for Galaxy really. I live near Godalming. We have great schools here, great sn services, lovely gp's. Local hospital has always been excellent wheni need them, even to the point of calling me up at home to see how ds2 is getting on. Shopping for me is Godalming or Guildford, which are both good.

Hi

I grew up in Farnham and went to infants, primary and secondary school there. My folk have lived there for over 30 years. I love the place. Good shops, new hospital just opened, and good public transport links to London via train. Very picturesque town, I'd love to move back there but don't think I can afford it now! Have to be content with visiting parents regularly (and popping into town shopping!)

farnham is really pretty, the town centre is lovely and there are also a couple of large supermarkets nearby too. There are a lot of army(I think), bases around the area which affects some of the local schools as there can be quite a turn around in school population as regiments go on tour etc I have heard that the army is due to leave N Hampshire/Surrey soon. There are some really good schools in the area too
