What can I put in Granny's broken ankle survival box?.......

MIL broke her ankle at teh weekend - a very bad break. She's had an operatio to put screws in and a metal plate. She is such an active lady and is going to ahte sitting around relying on others.

So we are making her a survival box as a bit of fun. So far I have thought of:

Giant chocolate bar
Trashy mags
Novels
Crosswords/sudoko books

Anything else?

Pampering handcream/manicure stuff?

DVD?

poking stick to turn telly on/off from chair??!!

Piccies of all her loved ones ,so she can look at them when she feels down.

a Coupon for a nail cut it drove me made when i had my pin put in as i couldnt cut my nails for months, they got quite dry.

One of those trays with a cushion underneath so she can eat her lunch or do her puzzles comfortably.

Small jigsaw puzzle she can do on said tray?

I had a puffy lap thing and it was a godsend as half way down calf was sore even though i just broke the tibia and fibia in a dozen places it hurt all up the leg.

Still get lots of pain now 7 months on.

jelly - you "just" broke the tib and fib in a dozen places? JUST????
