Ring and check. I received an extra £600 last year as I hadn't had enough during the year. Wouldn't it be lovely if it was an unexpected windfall?

SherlockLGJ · 06/07/2006 18:21

Shift it to a deposit account, if it is a mistake they will want it back eventually.

Put it in a high interest account, and when they want it back tell them they will have to wait 30/60/90 days.

Then if you make any interest spend it on yourself.

Godric · 06/07/2006 18:30

Don't spend it FGS they'll want it back next week. They are so crap!

NotAnOtter · 06/07/2006 18:31

i got asked to pay back once!

biglips · 06/07/2006 18:32

pls ring them just in case its an error as last year we were paid £500 cos of been underpaid but i rather check it with them than they chase it up off me

Northerner · 06/07/2006 18:34

Will be lovely if it's an unexpected wind fall.

I'm on the phone to them now. Any bets on how long I'll be holding?

Def don?t spend it and make sure that you contact them. A girl in the street was asked to pay back a load of tax credit as they had calculated it all wrongly and gave her a massively hard time as it had gone into an overdrawn acc and she had probs returning it quickly. They were threatening to charge her the interest if she delayed, not sure how it was resolved as haven?t spoken to her for a few days but she was mightily stressed out by it and they were quite threatening with her, making out that she knew it was a mistake and was stringing them along re repayments

Northerner · 06/07/2006 18:38

Just spoken to them and it's right!!!!! They underpaid me last year!!!!!

YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A window seat in Bettys

BagelBird · 06/07/2006 18:48

WOW!!
My DH is self emplyed and never managed to get round to doing the forms I know we are eligible.
Maybe I aught to sort it out!! Can you apply retropspectively??
Our books are always done retrospectively at the last minute and so it seems almost impossible to do the paperwork as we are nearly two years behind in books IYKWIM.

Northerner · 06/07/2006 19:04

Don't say just the travel lodge, it's quite nice!
