out of date mothercare vouchers - has anybody tried to use them?

I have just found some mothercare vouchers in an old handbag - which would be particularly useful as I am expecting No.2 in sept. However they have an expiry date on them (March 2005), I have had vouchers for all sorts of shops before but never come across vouchers that expire before - I think it's a bit crap to be honest. As I had DS in December 2004 I am assuming they only had 6 months on them!
Has anyone tried to use out of date vouchers - or had any luck getting them replaced?

When we set up our Mothercare account we got some vouchers which we only noticed were a few months out of date when we got home. When we tried to use them they accepted them, no problem - we didn't even have to explain. Maybe they don't always take the expiry dates that seriously?

oh - sounds like it might be worth trying to use them then and playing dumb if they ask.

Do you mean bought and paid for vouchers? or the money off type?

If it is money off then they have the right to limit the use of them, however, if someone has physically exchanged cash for a piece of paper with the company name on then I htink they would have a hard time justifying not giving you the value of them IYSWIM.

yes I mean voucher bought as a present - I agree, it has cash value, so I would think they ought to accept it. I think expiry dates are ridiculous.

I have to admit - I would struggle to find a justifiable reason for an expiry date on a cash voucher - maybe it is incase the paper goes off.....
