PTA Disco for 90 Reception/Yr 1 children TONIGHT - help any ideas for games?

HELP!! I know I should have thought of this before now. I can only think of the four corners games, musical bumps and statues that you can play with this many kids. The disco is 1 1/4 hours long any ideas to keep them amused?

I am hoping that they will dance a lot.

Musical puddles - Get A4 size blue card and cut in the shapes of puddles. Place randomly on the floor whilst the kids are dancing/moving around. Then when the music stops you have to put your foot on a puddle, if it's not then you are out. - You don't need to do a puddle for every child, there could be 4/5/6 out in each go.

Captain's coming:

You shout out different actions the children have to do - if anyone does the wrong action they are out.

Captains coming - salute and stand to attention

Climb the rigging - do climbing upwards action

Scrub the decks - pretend to scrub floors

Man the lifeboats - children need to quickly get into groups in a circle, hold hands and sit down. You can say "man the lifeboats in fours" and children have to get into groups of 4 quickly, or you can make it a different number (no more than fives though as it gets chaotic!

hark attack - children lie on floor and hold a hand above head (like a fin)

Storm approaching - children sit down and curl into a ball

Great fun and small childen love it - have done it with classes

Passing balloons not using hands.

Beauregard · 30/06/2006 11:06

Crap ,would mean you buying balloons though!

SKYTVADICT · 30/06/2006 11:07

We do have some balloons but would prob need bigger ones for this age group and could have 10 rows of 9 kids - great idea.
