You get hold of the largest TV you can and set it up in an empty classroom

Can you advertise it as a big draw - would have to be BYOB though, no chance of a licence at this stage I spose?

(Our school barbecue clashed with a big match once but we were selling booze anyway.)

I don;t think the footie's on til 4. what time is the fair? our fair is the same day but is only 11-2 so I think it'll be fine.

Hallgerda · 26/06/2006 10:26

Could you sell refreshments to the loitering Dads? Or toilet rolls to throw at the big screen if the match isn't going too well for us?

bamboo · 26/06/2006 10:27

You could charge the beer equivalent of a corking fee.

We have exactly the same problem - fair starts at 2pm and goes on into the evening with disco etc and I'm beginning to worry now that we'll lose everyone at 4pm and they'll not come back for the evening bit. Think we're going to have to incorporate it too with TVs in classrooms etc.

We've got a licence for summer fair but did a bit of a party thing around one of the first round matches a couple of weeks ago - didn't have a licence for that but sold England flags which came with a free drink. The flags proved very popular .

play the radio down the p.a? or section off a football area of playground/hall and have a radio there

Our fair was yesterday, 12-4 so just before England V Ecuador. We made more money than usual!! It was really busy.

Big TV, charge entry to watch it.
