Not long put an exhausted dd2 to bed, when 3 cars drive up and down our road, full of teenage blokes blaring their horns for no apparant reason. WTF? Arseholes!!!!!!

YOur DD will be one of those teenagers in the blink of an eye

Welcome to my hell!!
My neighbours son has a lot of friends coming and going all night and they do it too.
I have spoken to him, he apologises on their behalf, talks to them, they apologise and promise not to do it again, then POOF!!-straight out of their heads the next day!
But it's the bloody bass blaring that gets me, I don't want to hear your crappy taste in so-called-music!!

themoon66 · 24/06/2006 20:07

Oh you mean its meant to be music???

Bomper · 24/06/2006 20:08

I guess I am just sick of this road. When we moved here I thought it would be really nice, it's a close with a park at the end, and all I thought of was how nice it would be to just wander down to the park on a sunny morning with the children - what I didn't count on was that it would be like a magnet to all the local youths, that the carpark would be used for a place to buy and sell drugs, and that we would have regular police visits!!

I assume it is. My bother is one of these arseholes. (thank god I don't see him that much)
I assume it's music because it's a normal CD that goes in. Maybe it's something programmed into teenage boys car stereos!!

SoupDragon · 24/06/2006 20:11

Don't you remember what it was like to be a teenager?? I always had my car stereo blaring out at top volume...

SoupDragon · 24/06/2006 20:11

Still do when the children aren't in the car...

BettySpaghetti · 24/06/2006 20:11

I babysat for some friends last Saturday evening and the son of the people opposite their house had music booming from his car parked in the street and various mates coming and going -it happens all the time apparently.

Luckily for my friends their children's bedrooms are at the back of the house so they're not disturbed by it but it was bloody annoying.

(Must admit I did find myself thinking "if its too loud you're too old" and felt a bit Victor(ia) Meldrew-ish )

BettySpaghetti · 24/06/2006 20:13

Soupy -I do that too and then find myself thinking "How old are you Betty??!!"

spursmum · 24/06/2006 20:16

I didn't drive and still don't.
I prefer to make myself deaf with earphones and let people try and guess what I am listening to. They never get it!!
We had to call the police the other night. Students had a house party, the music was so loud it was shaking the whole building, they were over 200 ft away.
Over 100 students in this house, fighting, singing, shouting abuse at anyone driving past.
This carried on till 3:30 am!!!
The police got over 50 calls for surrounding streets and still did nothing!!

SoupDragon · 24/06/2006 20:18

SIgh.

SoupDragon · 24/06/2006 20:18

Used to have a whale of a time. It never ever occurred to us that we might be irritating people.

I have grown more considerate as the years have passed. Most people do

spursmum · 24/06/2006 20:20

I can understand the party TBH but they were asked to turn it down at midnight and they turned it UP!!
They woke up my neighbours kids. A liitle consideration wouldn't be too much especially when there are kids involved.

BettySpaghetti · 24/06/2006 20:21

Makes me glad I moved to "the country" .

We stayed with some friends recently in a studenty city and all night we heard music blaring from the house opposite -and to think I used to be one of the students that would have been at that party a good few years ago
