Icarus - white sheet and wings ?

bundle · 22/06/2006 16:22

trusty toga, wreath of leaves, sandals?

Furball · 22/06/2006 16:25

wizard - cloak (old sheet trimmed to shape or long dressing gown) cone hat with stars on and a beard fashioned out of cotton wool stuck onto card.

Is it for a boy or girl?

You, DS or DD? IF DS could he go as St George -= sword and shield fairly easy to make, and take toy dragon?

LeahE · 22/06/2006 17:10

St George you could also use England flag (just a few of them around right now...) as a cloak.

King Arthur

loch ness monster ? egg cartons on the back ?

It's for dd. She is taking part in a regional maths competition tomorrow. The theme is myths and legends and fancy dress is optional. Until this afternoon she was adamant that she didn't want to go in fancy dress. Typically she has changed her mind at the last minute. I can probably manage the icarus costume.

Medusa would be unforgettable... Would attach the "snakes" to a simple cardboard crown on her head, maybe cover it in silver foil first.

Coolmama · 22/06/2006 22:05

Pandora - pretty much any fairy-ish thing she wanted
or Lorelei - the mermaid - wrap from waist down in tinfoil?

Katymac · 22/06/2006 22:06

Pythagarus (a maths legand).......a costume with some triangle stuck on and carry a loofah?

He was the one who jumped out the bath and shouted eureka or was that archimedes?

SSSandy · 22/06/2006 22:08

can just see the teacher struggling to guess that one! He he

LeahE · 22/06/2006 22:11

It was Archimedes in the bath...

Katymac · 22/06/2006 22:12

O....damn

never mind he made a screw or something didn't he?

Are ther any famous mathematitian?

Was Morbius one?

EmmaKB · 22/06/2006 22:12

I think that all the boys in her class are going as football legends. Any excuse to wear football shirts to school.

Pan?
if you have a flute at home, maybe greenish clothes, bit of fairy style make-up

EmmaKB · 22/06/2006 23:03

DP is making snakes as we speak. dd decided she wants to be Medusa. Thanks for all your suggestions. I am not very creative when it comes to things like this I usually just buy outfits from ASDA.
