Pick Your Own farms in Gloucestershire

It is a long shot, but does anyone know of a pick your own fruit farm in southern Gloucestershire or very near surroundings. I have spent afternoon driving around following some leads from the upmystreet website, but to no avail. I am bereft without a cheap and plentiful supply of soft fruits with which to make jams.

sorry no help...

Haven't got time to read that properly right now Frenchgirl (crying child on my lap!) but it looks good and I will come back to it later. Thanks for that.

There's the AA fruit farm just off junction 11a Smile

Bit too far for you I expect but Clives Fruit Farm (mentioned on that link) is really lovely - kids love the fact you can PYO eggs!

(Its Worcestershire, not far from M5/M50)

DumbledoresGirl · 17/06/2006 20:22

Bubblerock - junction 11a? Is that the M5?

Sorry, only just managed to check back on MN - it's the M5, yep, you just take the exit and turn left at the roundabout, it's just on the left hand side, see if you can find a number for them online to check opening times. It's Shurdington Road. HTH

Just a quick update for Frenchgirl. Thanks for that link. I went to the nearest farm to me this afternoon, and picked some strawberries for jam making. All their other fruits going to be ready for picking in 2-3 weeks so I am glad I found it in time.

Glad you found somewhere DG!

DumbledoresGirl · 19/06/2006 18:04

Where is Over Farm? I am always on the look out for other places as PYOs seem to shut down with depressing regularity.

Over farm is on the road into gloucester from the forest side just after highnham roundabout on the dual carriage way.

DumbledoresGirl · 19/06/2006 20:37

Thanks. Gloucester is a bit far for me at the moment, given that I have found one about 15 mins drive from me, but I will try to remember it in case I need it next year.

BTW, 5 lbs of strawberry and gooseberry jam is currently cooling in my kitchen! Thanks ever so much Mumsnet for making that possible. Smile

DumbledoresGirl · 21/06/2006 13:24

Oh, just north of Bristol and east of Chepstow Sharklet (really, the old Avon area) so nowhere near Lechlade, but thanks for replying.
