It is nice for the rooms to flow into one another but themes aren't really my thing.I usually try to continue one strong colur in small amounts in rooms/areas that lead off each other with a predominantly white background.Seems to work as sudden changes in colour or style can jar if you want things to merge. My new house will have touches of black and duck egg blue although am tempted by pink aswell

milward · 15/06/2006 23:58

My houses theme is mess - follows on from room to room very nicely :)

Your houses sound lovely. If our offer on a house to renovate is accepted my theme will be wooden floors and cream walls.

Tortington · 16/06/2006 00:31

pink gingham throughout with doris day pictures in the hall. Val doonican adorns the wall above my open fireplace with brass horseshoes on either side and a brass coal scuttle.

when my phone rings it goes ring ring yahoo ring ring yahoo

in the bathroom the toilet roll hangs from a lassoo and we have an original tin bath. the shower head is plumbed into a tin bucket which has holes in the bottom for authenticity.

Wall to wall clutter, in tones of dust and debris. We are a strong contender for A Life of Grime. Celebrity beckons.

noddyholder · 16/06/2006 08:30

You are all so slovenly I need a lie down

mummyhill · 16/06/2006 09:20

Bless my house was room to room mess till recent events made me sit up and take notice now it is a tidyish shell requiring decorating.

off white in every room with beige carpets and wooden floors. Quite dull really but I use colour through furniture and accessorising. God that sounds so poncy doesn't it?

SoupDragon · 16/06/2006 16:35

My theme is Chaos

Blackduck · 16/06/2006 16:36

SD - lol - I was going to say something similar...!

bea · 16/06/2006 16:57

soupdragon... you beat me to it!!!!

Roobie · 16/06/2006 17:16

We have the same oatmeal carpet throughout the whole house and every room has white walls - no imagine me

quanglewangle · 16/06/2006 20:44

Noddy, you'll need smelling salts at my house.
I can feel an attack of the vapours coming on just thinking about it all.

NotQuiteCockney · 16/06/2006 21:07

Oh, my theme is "little piles of crap all over everything". It's a popular theme, I think.

Whizzz · 16/06/2006 21:13

NQC- yes I have that theme too Grin

littlerach · 16/06/2006 21:17

Hmm, mine is Childrens Toys, especially ones made od Plastic.
Splashe sof pINK are also throughout.

swedishmum · 16/06/2006 21:21

Our house is inspired by Tracey Emin's messy bed. The kids have it down to a fine art. The youngest collects early 21st century tat plastic.

tallmummy · 16/06/2006 21:41

We have a tasteful handprint theme which starts at the front door, continues up the wall by the stairs and ends in the bathroom. This is complemented by large toothpaste smears across the bathroom mirror and window.

spinamum · 16/06/2006 22:35
Grin

yes mess and a tight squeeze throughout.

BagelBird · 18/06/2006 17:46

Well, I cleaned behind my DD’s wardrobe yesterday (don’t often do it as it is very heavy and needs emptying before moving it) only to find a dead mouse!!! Fortunately I was in the house alone so DDs didn’t hear my girly shriek or see the poor mite..

nicnack2 · 18/06/2006 17:53

beautifully decorated throughout with abstract pile of ironing. Blush

Gingerbear · 18/06/2006 17:58

Little House on the Prairie here.
