I can't decide which beach to go to today - can anyone tell me about the parking at Margate?

Is it OK? Or should I stick to easy little Westgate?

I don't know about Margate, but Dh woke up this morning and said 'we really ought to take the kids to the beach tomorrow'. My heart sank - visions of all the population of the SE crowding onto tiny squares of sand.... not my ide of fun...

But we can't even get the paddling pool out, hosepipe ban and all that...

Hmm, yes good point. That's why I usually go to Westgate on Sea, just outside Margate. It's a small beach which usually only locals go to, as it's got nothing apart from one shop which doesn't sell newspapers. So that's why I was thinking of going somewhere livelier, but now you've mentioned everyone else is thinking that way...

we went to margate on wed as dp had a day off, we parked in a coach/car park right next to the beach which was pay and display, very empty, no problems, beach very empty too, we are planning to go again tomorrow, but obviously parking wont be as easy, we will probably have to drive a fair bit from the beach to find space.
