dinny · 04/06/2006 22:29

oh, how nice to have him home. has he gone back in now, Misdee?

misdee · 04/06/2006 22:30

yes, he had to return to have his dressings redone.

the hospital called last night as they wanted to give him a fragmin(??) injection, as they felt his blood was too thick. he said no, as its 45mins there, plus waiting, plus 45min journey.

SmileNot too sure on all the details of peter's illness !Glad he could come home but not surprised you were on tenderhooks.

misdee · 04/06/2006 22:33

Peter is waiting for a heart transplant, and had a LVAD (artificial heart) fitted last july. has been in hispital for about a year, and this was his 1st overnight stay since then Smile

can they monitor him from hospital, Misdee?

misdee · 04/06/2006 22:36

no, i am fully LVAD trained, we had a backup machine here, his charger, adaptor, spare batteries etc.

when he comes home, he will have regular blood work, dressings, 24hour care etc.

macwoozy · 04/06/2006 22:41

That's great to hear he could stay over for the night. Were the children excited to have their dad home for the night?

misdee · 04/06/2006 22:49

very excited. dd2 made me laugh this morning she woke up and cae in the living room and said 'oh no daddys forgot his shoes' i said no he hasnt, he is still asleep in the bedroom. and off she dashed to check.

dd1 told me she checked on him during the night as well, bless her.

Great to hear he has made it home overnight. Remember when you thought he would never get out of hospital. You have obviously got pretty skilled with his LVAD - another accompplishment. Well done Misdee Smile
