This is a hateful thing and I still feel guilty about it

when I was about 9 and my little sis about 6 we both got book tokens for xmas. I really wanted a book (about horses if I remember rightly) but didn't have enough tokens. little sis was a bit dreamy and was always losing things so I nicked one of her tokens and then when she got into trouble for being careless and 'losing' it, I kept shtum. Aren't I the horridest sister ever? I can't believe how mean that was

There is only 15mths between me and my twin sister's and my mum raised us as a single parent. But when Birthdays came around I was allowed to pick the presents for my sisters. I used to pick the most awful things I could and knew they wouldn't like them - but convinced my mum they would, this went on for years but they eventually got their own back on me when I was about 16 I got the most awful knitted cardigan it was white with red and green flowers all over it!!!!

We told my mum about what we did a few years ago and she went mad!! We are all knocking 30 now - so have given up picking out the most awful gifts we possibly can

Ps/ My real name is Amanda!!

My step-sister and I used her school trip money (we were about 7) and went to the shop on the way home and bought POLO's - those nice unscented sweets, which we smuggled in and sucked our way through for the rest of the evening (We weren't allowed sweets).
How our parents found out to this day I will never know
Oh and a really dreadful one which I will always feel guilty about -
When I was 16 and LOVED a really cool boy I lied to my Ranger leader about where I had been rather than the rangers meeting and in order to get out of trouble told her I had gone for a walk to be alone as I thought I might be pg - of course I was with said boy. She was sooooo kind and nice and I still feel really awful about it now.

When I was about 11, and my sister was about 3, I cut the fingers off some gloves (don't even ask why - long and irrational story). As my sister had recently cut the whiskers off one of the cats ("doing magic, mummy", she was automatically blamed when the fingers were found. I never owned up, and she denied it point blank. My dad said things like "well, someone must have come in at night and done it", but she still denied it, and I still kept quiet. The years went by, sis had nightmares about people coming into the house and cutting things up, everyone always blamed her for any cutting incidents, and often asked her why she didn't just own up.
I did eventually tell her when she was about 12 - she was, needless to say, incandescent with rage.

This one isn't one I haven't told anyone, as I had to own up. The other thing is, I did it to a fellow MN'er

Can't remember how old we were (possibly 10?) but Charliecat and I were best friends (have been friends for 18 years now ). She had the Kylie Minogue tape (also called Kylie) and I stole it from her one time when I was staying with her

I'm not sure why I took it, as I knew if I asked her she would give me a loan of it. To this day I am so so sorry that I did that to my best friend

My mother made sure I gave her it back and made me apologise (this was after a severe smacking) but that didn't make up for how bad I felt for taking it in the first place.

Another incident involving Charliecat (she's a bad influence you know ).....

She was staying at my house overnight, and I had bunk beds in my room (at this point they were down as 2 single beds). Her and I were jumping down them by starting at the pillow end, then jumping on the middle, then at the end of the bed before jumping over the footend. We were having a great time until I jumped on the end and instead of bouncing to go over the foot end, I hit the floor. I had only gone and broke the wooden slats underneath the mattress!

My mum shouted up the stairs to ask what the noise was, and I shouted down that it was ok, I had just fallen off the bed. For 2 weeks I managed to hide the broken slats by putting a carrier back on the post at the footend of the broken side, but one day I came home from school to find her fuming. She had gone to change my sheets and found these broken slats. Funnily enough I got a pretty good hiding for that too, but more because I lied to her than actually about juming on/breaking it.
