SleepyJess's Race for Life sponsorship request...

I don't run 'til 23rd July.. and had a thread going a while back which I can no longer find.. so \link{http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/ClareThomas\here's} here's a new one.

I have just got off the phone from my lovely friend Charmaine who is thirty years old and slowly recovering from an aggressive form of breast cancer. She is in a hospice for a few days as she is really low at the moment after finishing a course of radiotherapy and the problems it has caused. (She had to discontinue the chemo last year because it made her so ill. She then had an op to remove the large tumour.) I am running in celebration of the life of Charmaine which she is really happy about.. and I hope it will give her a boost in her recovery. (She hopes to be there with her DH, DD age 8 and DS age 6, if she is up to it.)

Talking to her tonight made me realise I need to get my sponsorship in order.. so far I've only got half of what I raised last year, which is my fault for being too busy to raise my sponshorship.

I know there are quite of few of us here on MN who are Racing for Life.. but if you haven't already sponsored someone else... or you want to sponsor me anyway, please consider it..I'd be really grateful. Anything that helps to get the better of the poxy horrid disease has got to be worth digging deep for a quid or two...

Thanks :)

SJ x

I have sponsored you. Thinking, among others, of my dh's cousin who is just 19 and has leukaemia.

Bumping this for you, in the hope that others will be inspired to add their sponsorship.

Imagine bumping your sponsorship thread in the same 5 minutes as you bang out a catty, irritated and needless post, just for the hell of it! That was clever of me wasn't it! Oh well.. it's for Cancer Research UK.. sponsor me anyway... even stroppy cows can raise money...
