is there anyway to sound proof a single glaze window?

not completely sound proof it, that would be great if i could, but i can hear everything through it and living in the country i am getting woken at 5am with all the little birds singing.
any ideas, thanks if you can help

Your best bet would be secondary double glazing ( or even replacement double glazing)

i would love a double glazed window but house dont belong to us and owner probably wont pay for it

hmmmm - can't think of anything else really - apart from shutters - and they would be a non-starter as well if you don't own the house.

Ear plugs work.I use the wax ones from Boots & they are great.
