What about a "pampering" day at a local Health/Spa centre?

Janh · 30/01/2004 21:05

Could the 2 of you have a girly weekend somewhere exciting that neither of you has been to before? Is there enough time/money for that?

Beccarollover · 30/01/2004 21:07

awww just wanted to say what a lovely friend you are!!

nutcracker · 30/01/2004 21:10

Tiredemma - I've been looking for you. Was it you who told me that you know someone who lets houses in Geat Barr and Kingstanding ????

nutcracker · 30/01/2004 21:17

Oh meant to say. Can't help with the anywhere to go thing but i could help with transport. My dad owns an New York Checker Taxi and a New York Police car, and people often hire them for special occasions, weddings, proms e.t.c. Even if you just wanted dropping off somewhere. Haven't a clue how much he charges but if i asked him then he wouldn't charge much. Let me know if you are intersted

When one of my best friends got married the rest of our gang (since schooldays) got together in secret, bringing all our school and Uni. photo's and made her a special photo album. Apart from having an utterly brilliant night together (much wine and laughter) we put together a fantastic album full of memories - we didn't just stick in pictures, we wrote in funny stories and anecdotes we remembered about her. Everyone remembered different things and we were all in hysterics - you know, the sort of funny stories that are only funny if you wre actually there

We presented her with it on her hen-night - and she was so moved, she was laughing and crying at the same time.

Only downside? It was doing the rounds at the wedding reception - and some of the stories in it were VERY rude (we sat there cringing as her 82 year old Auntie looked through it!)

marthamoo, great minds think alike

I thought of this as soon as I read Tiredemma's post, then scroll down to see you have suggested it lol

I think this would be a wonderful present for your friend on (or even before) her wedding day

tiredemma · 30/01/2004 22:06

When I was 40, my best friend made a fabulous photo montage of our whole lives (we've been friends since we were 7), which was THE best present anyone has ever given me. I LOVE looking at it and remembering it all. It cost almost nothing to put together, but she had obviously gone to alot of trouble to do it, and that in itself made it special too.
