Oh no - DS has just done for the upstairs stair gate.

Please tell me that :-

a. He won't be up and down the stairs once I put him to bed.

and

b. That I won't spend the entire night lying awake listening for the slightest creak and hint that he might be heading down the stairs (or even falling down them!!!!)

He's 2.6. Usually (with the rare exception) stays in bed once he's put there.

DH is away for 10 days so no chance of me fixing it.

Do you have one at the bottom that you could move up at night.

There is one at the bottom, but the raw plugs (or whatever they're called ) have come out of the wall upstairs and some of the skirting board has come away.

Also am crap at DIY!!!!

Both DD and DS in bed now - fingers crossed he doesn't start coming down!!!!!!

Can you put it up across his bedroom door and leave the door open?

No - it's a screw into the wall one, not pressure mounted and it won't stay standing up!!!!

Don't think DH would be very pleased with me if I tried drilling holes in DS's door frame

Fingers crossed. Only other idea is get a sleeping bag and pillow and sleep stretched out outside his door .
