A while back I'm sure there was a thread about a fab site where you could get images of all sorts of things for free (v.useful for homework etc)

I have looked back on the archives etc - but can't find it - can anyone help?

YOu can download pictures from several sites. The kids at school often use the Google images. And if you use Microsoft Office you can use their download centre to and add images (and sound/animation) straight into your clipart gallery.

Sorry to sound so stupid - how do you get to Google images? Do you just copy them from whatever site you're on?

Finbar - google images just helps you find images - they are not necessarily free they are still subject to copyright and technically you should check with each website owner as to whether you can use that picture.

Sorry ... you can find Google images at www.google.com or www.google.co.uk - just look for the images link at the top of the page.

Finbar - good question - I have real problems downloading from some sites .... question to those bright sparks ...

What format should I store the images ?
Sometimes when I try and enlarge the pictures the resolution becomes blurred - how do I stop this ?

Thanks ...

Crystaltips, I think there's probably nothing you can do about it. Most images on the web are low-resolution because they're not designed to be enlarged (quicker to upload if they're small file sizes). I may be missing the point, but that would be my guess.

Here is a direct link to Google's image search.
