oops, sorry, it sort of changed to this thread:

It shrank in size and is in Poole Park this Friday around 11am - that's quite a way from you isn't it ? Could we maybe move it or sort out a proper Southampton one for a few weeks time or something ? Hope you're feeling better.

handlemecarefully · 27/01/2004 11:21

Thanks Kittypickle.

Poole isn't that far for me (as I live near junction 2 of M27) but tbh I probably wouldn't be able to find Poole park (I've looked on the net and found something about the park but it doesn't give directions), so being a bit of a wimp about that sort of thing (driving somewhere when not absolutely sure of destination) I shall probably give it a miss this time. Hope the weather holds for you though - have a good time!

Oh dear HMC, I seem to have muddled things up a bit. . I can give you directions to Poole if you change your mind. You're in Southampton arent you? Let's meet there soon.

handlemecarefully · 28/01/2004 09:01

Its okay - no worries bunny 2. These things are always complicated to organise to suit everyone! Have a good laugh in Poole and let me know when you are meeting up again (in So'ton or Bournemouth perhaps - since I know Bournemouth reasonably well)

HMC, I have been thinking about taking ds to the aviation museum in Southampton, are you interested?

handlemecarefully · 02/02/2004 08:41

Bunny2,

Sure! - whilst dd is only 18 months old, despite this she has been to art galleries and museums etc and seems to get something out of it (to my surprise)...

OP posts:
bunny2 · 02/02/2004 20:35

HMC, I didnt realise she was so young. MAybe the aviation museum isnt the best thing! If there is anywehre in Southampton that would appeal to an 18 month old and a nearly 4 y/o, that might be a better proposition. As long as ds goes on the train, he'll be happy.

Marwell zoo is great (I'm a season ticket holder, so go roughly once every couple of months) and it would definitely appeal to a 4 year old as well as an 18 monther (Stressyhead - why don't you come too?).

Would Marwell be an option for you bunny2? Its off the B2177 (between Colden Common & Bishops Waltham) - there are directions on their website. Would you be confident in finding it? Or has your ds done zoos to death?

How did the Poole park meet up go btw?

Just noticed that you would be travelling by train. I could pick you up from the station...

Yes, count me in, we did Marwell last year and ds was typically fascinated by the tractor and the train. Maybe this year he'll be more into the animals but if not we'll just do lots of tractor rides!

I can do any day except Tue or Thurs. Weekends are fine too.

Ok, Stressy, we can always arrange something else. HMC, looks like its just us then!

handlemecarefully · 03/02/2004 11:48

Bunny2,

Currently I am working part time (although shortly to go on mat leave and then give up entirely), so Fridays are good for me.

How about a week this Friday (weather dependent)i.e. 12th Feb? - could meet at noon in the Marwell 'restaurant'(I think its called Treetops) and start with lunch before doing the zoo?

What do you think?

I can pretty much do any Friday (sad that my social events diary is so full isn't it) since we usually only do toddlers group in the morning (very miss-able) and supermarket shopping in the p.m. (it would be a real wrench to miss that!, not)

12th Feb looks good for me too. Can you meet me at the station?

handlemecarefully · 04/02/2004 08:46

Yep - just let me know your arrival time and which station (would you come into Eastleigh station?)

OP posts:
bunny2 · 04/02/2004 21:11

I will be great if you can meet us at the station. I can drive if the station is a long way for you, it isnt a problem. IF you are ok picking us up, is Eastleigh best for you?

handlemecarefully · 05/02/2004 08:12

Actually I mentioned it to dh and he pointed out that Southampton Airport Parkway station might be better because you are likely to get a train that goes direct there. Both stations are on a route that I could take to Marwell zoo - so picking you up is no problem at all

bunny2 · 05/02/2004 20:19

Fab, ok. I'll look up the train times, is 11.00 ish good for you?

handlemecarefully · 10/02/2004 08:46

Bunny2

I've emailed you via 'contact another talker' - maybe you need my mobile phone number for Friday...?
