We may (possibly) be moving to Bath at some point in the future (not for at least a year).

I'd like to have a look at houses to get some idea of what we could afford there and also areas.

Can anyone point me in the direction of nice areas, good for schools etc?

Any other info gratefully receieved!

I don't live there (I wish!) but train as a teacher there 6 years ago. I think the general consensus was that none of us wanted to be landed at Twerton school due to the reputation of the area. I had most of my placements in Bristol schools. My only experience of a Bath school was Moorlands - in a very mixed intake area. As a student, consensus basically seemed to be that those living in BA1 poscode areas were more affluent than those in BA2. I'm sure none of this is any help at all really, but at least I've bumped it for you! hope you love living in Bath as much as I did!

Thanks kipper. Any more views from Bath types?

When we lived in Bath, Weston was nice, with Weston All Saints being a good school.

Oldfield Park is nice, though some of it borders onto Twerton, not as nice.

Southdown wasn't too good, Odd Down too.

Combe Down good in parts, not Foxhill.

Newbridge nice, big houses, was a good school.

Batheaston has primarily large council estate, don't know the svhool.

Larkhall seemed okay, Bathampton nice.

Can't think of the rest, sorry.

Hope that helps, we moved about 4 years ago, I really miss it at times, thoug we aren't far away. Parking can be a drag everywhere.
CAT me if you want any more details.
