On here?
Just seem to see an increasing amount of things for sale for close enough what people bought them for !!!
Why is that?

B/c people are greedy by nature. And if others are stupid enough to pay them that kind of money for their used stuff, then it'll continue.

I wouldn't and don't.

Yet another reason I no longer use Ebay.

NotAnOtter · 14/05/2006 16:56

I just laugh all the time at them - one the other day - quoted new 40 quid used 35???? I just dont get it

maybe I should try that,I'm currently trying to give away a perfectly good expensive pushchair on freecycle and nobody will take it from me!

NotAnOtter · 14/05/2006 16:57

never heared of freecycle?

themoon66 · 14/05/2006 16:59

I thought the unwritten rule was used should be sold at roughly half the original price.

brimfull · 14/05/2006 17:01

It's a great way of getting rid of things, you post on the site and people come and take your crap away.Freecycle.org and then join your local group.
So far ,I've off loaded
little tykes slide
mini trampoline
trike
1 tonne topsoil
little tykes car,
it's fab

NotAnOtter · 14/05/2006 17:03

Yes themoon66 so did i but not on here - i think there must be too many ebayers or something - did you see that playhouse a few weeks back pmsl at the thread cos the girl was just selling something at bloody full price and was affronted when someone DARED to point this out!

OP posts:
essbee · 14/05/2006 17:05

It depends what it is but I usally reckon on 1/3 to 1/2 the original price (if it's vgc) and much less for clothing etc.

fullmoonfiend · 14/05/2006 17:07

I know what you mean, gets silly when clothes are George or Nextetc and people ask more than the things could be bought for new.

essbee · 14/05/2006 17:08

Exactly, I mean you can buy new tops in tesco's etc for £2.50 and it's obvs perfect!

Fimbo · 14/05/2006 17:22

My ds has the Next traffic jam range for his bedroom - duvet/curtains etc and it amazes me what people are prepared to pay for it on Ebay - you can buy it new for less!

NotAnOtter · 14/05/2006 17:30

I know i was looking for a big silver cross thing for my new boy and the prices on ebay are extortionate - why do people pay it?

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 14/05/2006 17:35

I saw perfumes on there that were selling for more than what you'd pay in Boots.

And then this stupid gal I know paid full whack for one on ebay and it was fake!

Mirage · 14/05/2006 18:13

My friend bought a top from George for £7,decided that she didn't like it after 1 wear & put it on eBay for 0.99p,it sold for £12 plus p&pShock.

She couldn't believe that someone would pay more for it 2nd hand than new.

NotAnOtter · 14/05/2006 18:14

omg mirage how ridiculous

My Little Tikes Jungle Climber in the For Sale section is a bargain. Honest :o

saltire · 15/05/2006 10:31

My MIL bought my boys shoes from NEXT sale(8.99 per pair - new would have been 14.99)which they wore once and refused point blank to wear again. I put them on ebay for £3.00 each pair, and one pair were sold for 21.99, the other for 18.99! I just don't get it at all!
