Positive female role models for 8/9 yr old girls

I have to help at Brownies next week and the subject is Girl Power and positive female role models. My mind is as blank as ever so I was hoping you might have some suggestions. :)

Do you mean same age group or women they could look up to?

Anne Frank? Or do they have to be living?

Lily Quench

Female main character from a series of books by Australian author. First is called Lily Quench and the Dragon of Ashby. Very feisty, and has great adventures, but is realistic (she feels scared / crys when she loses friends etc)

I was assuming that it is likely to be women they have heard of. I can't imagine that it will be too in depth, just a general chat.
