Just had a warning from AOL about a supposed chat message from her account saying: ANY one want to date ... who wants sex Shock

I know this wasn't her and I'm shocked I've been offcially warned by AOL (although know that's a Good Thing)

But what to do?

Sometimes I've had emails bounce back to me that were never from me iykwim! I would change her password, secret question and everything.
And just question her about it, she might have let a friend use it or something.

NOT the neighbour's child I hope...does she come in to your house (I know dd is not allowed in hers)
:( Tinker, what a nasty surprise

Tinker · 08/05/2006 15:53

She's definitely not let a friend use it. Am pretty sure she deson't even use chat function on it but will ask her. Yesterday noticed there was an email in her account, opened it (which I always do) and it was spam. Annoyed with myself since normally delete without opening but because it was in her account was curious about what it was. I'm guessing I've confirmed her email address.

Blush Humble pie to be eaten. Gentle questioning produced a red face and hot tears. A lesson learnt. Oh dear.

it was your dd?

Tinker · 08/05/2006 19:01

It was. She was copying messages she has seen in chat. Am going to disable it. Has given her a big fright.

oh dear. what a shock. has she been warned of the dangers on chat rooms and keeping herself safe?

Tinker · 08/05/2006 19:08

She has now misdee. She is genuinely a very innocent type.

does she even know what sex is? (i dont think i did at the age of 9)

Tinker · 08/05/2006 19:12

Not really. Think chat messages pop up and she's seen what's been written. Respect to aol though for notifying me.

my dd1 who is 11 recently got an email from a friend, luckily i was with her wen she opened it...
it said her friend had made her own web site and asked dd1 to check out the video on it ...
when we did it was a porno video...
switched it off as quick as i could and phoned the friends mum to tell her because it had been sent out to all her contacts...her parents thought it was quite funny !!!!!!!
seems they had a virus on their computer !!!!!

Marina · 09/05/2006 14:48

Glad you got it sorted in the sense you now know what happened, Tinker. Even very innocent children see these phrases all around them and would not be human if they were not tempted to experiment a little...even billboards at stations are full of intriguing innuendoes and imagery :(
