Finding a worthy home for outgrown clothes

Hi mums out there, I'm a newcomer to this site so sorry if I don't get the messaging etiquette quite right.

I have a spare room full of lovely girl's and boy's clothing which my two have outgrown, age from babyhood up to 6 years, it's all really nice stuff in good condition (the very worn stuff has already gone to clothes banks) and I really want to send it off somewhere where needy children will get to wear it and benefit from it. I don't want any rag trade professionals making money from it en route! I've spent ages scouring the net for info with no success. Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do with it? I'm based in West Sussex.

Thanks to anyone who can pass on any useful info or ideas.

my health visitor has distributed lots of our things to some families facing hardship.
We also gave the baby clothes to the midwife and she passed those on.

Are you a member of a church? They might be able to pass on the items to families in need.

Refugee Action or something like that would be delighted to get your stuff.

You can also "freecycle" it! These are community groups where people give away stuff. You'll get e-mails from people interested on your spare items, and you can choose a worthy cause, a draw randomly someone that would give them a lovingly home. You'll find the group closest to you easily searching yahoo
