We are considering moving to Hornsey or Crouch End and I just wondered if people like the area, think it is family friendly and can recommend a good primary school and nursery?

Have you tried posting on www.upmystreet.com? There is a message board on there. I found it really useful, you select the postcode you're interested in, and it shows conversations in that area. You can post your own conversations too, but make sure you do it from your prospective new postcode, not your existing one.

i used to live in crouch end and thought it was lovely . i would say it is family friendly , loads of young couples and families with small children but no expereince of the schools i am afraid as we had to move out when dd1 was only about 2.

My niece attended Weston Park which has a good reputation. Crouch end is featured in Junior Magazine this month and they normally comment on schools.
