Why are emails sent form my hotmail account not in my 'sent' folder?

Well, that's it really. I've set up a hotmail account, sent a few emails to let people know my new addy, but they are not in my sent folder. Does that mean they've not sent? Do I have to 'set' it to save sent messages or something?

you have to click leittle box left hand side for each mail you create
