Did your MP3 player come with a CD with software on it?

No, soupy.

Twas ultra cheapo. Instructions rather limited (!) - literal translations from the original Serbo-Croat or whatever. I'm really struggling!

We have a prog called Nero that converts them
Stick CD in your PC, open Nero and it asks what you want to do (ie copy CD, convert to MP3)

I also have software with my MP3 player (Creative Zen Jukebox) that converts too - so plug that into PC & it then gets the CD tracks, 'rips' them to the PC & then converts to MP3 before storing on jukebox

in Windows XP, open windows media player.
Then put the CD in,
Then press the copy from CD button, its the 3rd button down
Then when it has copied them use my computer to find the songs and drag and drop them onto the MP3 player

make sense or have I made it worse??!!!

but isn't that the problem - you can't just copy across in CD format, you need something to convert to MP3 files ?

Right, I'm getting somewhere now.

Def need to download a conversion like itunes or summat.

(Cheeky question - anyone know one I can download for free?!)
