key events of 2001... other than the obvious

I am making a book about the year 2001 for DD1 as she was born that year. Apart from the obvious event of 9/11 what else could I include?
Have decided to do a page on what was no. 1 in the charts on the day she was born.

That's a fab idea Yorkigirl. My ds was born 2001 too and I'm afraid I can only remember being induced for 3 days while the Bradford riots were happening less than half a mile from the maternity unit & I didn't give a monkeys! (would have done normally)

I'll try & think of something more positive.

My DS was born in 2001 too, a week after 9/11. It overshadows my memories of that year completely and I can't think what else happened. On the bbc website they have a "on this day" section - you might some news or interesting stuff for the day she was born.
