How many pushchairs/prams have you owned?

I am embroiled in a battle with dh at the moment because I want a new pushchair for ds2 and he says no. We have a Chicco Trekking at the moment, and OK, I did swear that this would definitely be the last one EVER. But it's got really rickety (all rivets not screws so nothing that can be tightened up), it's so heavy to push now ds2's a toddler, I can barely get it up the step into the house and...final straw...the raincover is completely useless now his legs are longer, it is made of nylon (like cagoule material) and his trousers and shoes were soaked by the time we got to JoJingles today. Plus I have a bad back and I'm sure it's making it worse.

Dh's response? "How many pushchairs have we had now? You said this would be the last one we'd need? Can't you wrap his legs up in something? I can't see anything wrong with it. And [saved the best til last] My Mother only had one pushchair with all three of us, it was always falling apart, but she made do."

To answer my own question we have had:

ds1: Graco Seville 3-in-1 thing..completely pants.
Scallywags cheapo buggy, fell apart and was mended umpteen times til eventually I lost my temper and jumped up and down on it.
Maclaren buggy - wore this one into the ground.
ds2: proper old fashioned pram, cheap American import but LOVED it, but he started trying to throw himself out at 6 months.
Chicco Trekking.
Oh and a cheapo Lidl buggy that cost £20 which we took on holiday.

That's six for two children...is that excessive? How many have MNers had?

Have just realised this thread is 3.5 years old . Thought marthamoo's DC were older than mine.

CarGirl · 26/09/2007 12:22

Far too many to list, possibly around 100 for 4 children, they have all been second hand though apart from 3

Sunshinemummy · 26/09/2007 12:30

Two and I still use them both - a Chameleon and a Quinny Zapp.

bookwormtailmum · 26/09/2007 12:32

My dd had a pram, 2 strollers (one broke so it had to be replaced) and I bought a smaller stroller on holiday when I tried taking her away without a buggy. 4 for 1 child. Mm now that does sound a tad excessive - but the pram is reusable for another baby.

francagoestohollywood · 26/09/2007 12:35

we had:
1 big pram, really comfy for baby but pants to push around (ds also slept in it at home). Used it for both the dc and now have passed it on to a friend.
1 bebe' comfort pushchair used for both, given to charity shop.
1 mothercare twin buggy, very good, which I'm going to take to charity shop asap
1 chicco caddy, best buy!

AnAngelWithin · 26/09/2007 12:43

23... i think (runs and hides)

TheQueenOfQuotes · 26/09/2007 12:49

Had a Mothercare Travelsystem for DS1, and then a Toys R Us umbrella buggy.

Someone gave me a Britax Pram for when DS2 was tiny, and I then bought the Graco Citisport once he was too big for the pram.

DS3 I have the Hauck Inifity - and have no plans to replace it

So 5 in total for 3 children.

Susianna · 26/09/2007 12:56

About 40 I think. I made a list a while ago.

vwkombi · 29/09/2009 20:24

Anyone now what this buggy is and the model number? I really want to get one local.
