no, you can't buy online...

starlover · 26/04/2006 12:49

surely the whole point of clarks shoes is to get them fitted? and if you aren't getting them fitted then you may as well buy any old shoes

juice · 26/04/2006 19:57

starlover p off.
i was only asking.

Well - I have bought them online - usually after having tried on hundreds in shops and being told "You need an 11G - but we don't have any !" - So rather than drive 45 miles to the next Clark's shop I order online - I think that's justifiable !

threebob · 26/04/2006 20:01

I live in NZ - Clarks are massively expensive here - I get ds measured, he tries on the shoes/sandals and then my mum picks them up on sale in the UK and brings them over. She got some great boots for 10 quid that would have been $100 here.

Also I have read on other threads about special needs children being sent the measuring thing to do at home as a trip to the shoe shop was out of the question.

Replacing a pair that nursery lost a week after you bought them.

So you see Starlover - lots of reasons that you might buy Clarks online.

Norah · 26/04/2006 20:07

Oh by the way - www.shoesdirect.co.uk - can't do links - but that's where I have bought from and also have bought Start Rite from them - same reasons as below in case anyone might wonder !

Orinoco · 26/04/2006 21:28

But don't different styles fit in different ways? Only speaking from experience when we've gone to Clarks or Startrite and been measured, and they've tried shoes on and said "no, they're no good", she needs a narrower/wider one in that style?

I'm afraid I agree with Starlover - if you're not going to get them properly fitted, you may as well buy a cheap pair.

starlover · 26/04/2006 21:32

yes the styles do vary a lot. for example, children with a high instep are often better with a t-bar rather than a mary-jane style.

no need to tell me to p off... i was just asking why you'd bother?

3bob... can understand doing it if you had tried them on and know they fit. that does make sense!
