Nicknames - how did you chose yours for Mumsnet?

Since being on mumsnet I have been amazed, confused, concerned, amused by the names people have chosen.

Not least I have been embarrassed at how boring mine is!

How did you pick your name?

Ages ago I got sent an email where you type in your real name and it generated your 70's glam name. Needless to say, might was novadandypowder, and as I have no imagination, I used that for my hotmail account. Since then I have used it as my user/account name for most things as you can be sure no-one else is using it, although saying that I tried to use it to set up a yahoo email and it was already taken...hmmm...there's an imposter out there somewhere....

My name was edodgy which is my initial and beginning of my surname with a "y" on the end then we had a french name week so I put the "L" infront so was ledodgy and since then we've had a fishy thread hence the herring.

Many years ago when I was young and a babe (you should see the state of me now!), me and my friends all had silly nick-names. When we went out, we'd get horrendously drunk and pretend to any guys chatting us up that our nick-names were our real names. Mine was Bobalina!
