Painting a colour interpretation anyone an authority on this?

ds 4yrs, likes painting but always, always uses murky colours, they are orrible. Does this mean anything? Surprisingly he does know if you mix this colour with that you get this which great but what i see on the page is just yuk.

At the moment the mixing gives him more fun than the end result!

If you're desparate for a pretty piece to send Grandma etc, just put out (eg) red and yellow to limit th murk factor.
