The violence of the lambs.

We took the dd's to my dads farm on Monday & I showed dd1 how to bottlefeed the cade lambs.I was telling her how I loved to feed them when I was little,& saying how lovely they were,when one of the little buggers bit my finger.It actually drew blood & made me say a bad word in front of the girls.

It still hurts now & I have told my dad that if I come down with any nasty sheep-related lurgy,I will sue him.

Beware,they are not as innocent & cuddly as they look!

You can always get your revenge later by eating the damn thing!

my dd (13mths) met some lambs for the first time last week, she was desperate to get in their pen, so much so trying diving from Dh arms head first.

Glad we stop her now!!

Madrose,I have a lovely vision of a toddler diving into a lamb pen headfirst now!

How an animal which only has 1 set of teeth can bite so hard,I do not know.

A few years back I took my nephew and neice to see the newborn lambs on a farm we were visiting. One of the lambs was lying weakly on the ground and, in front of our horrified eyes, Mummy Sheep kicked Baby Lamb to death, to the soundtrack of the children screaming, "Save the baby, Auntie Hester, save the baby!"

I rushed them out of there, squawking like Joyce Grenfell, "don't worry, children! We'll get the farmer and he will make the lamb all well again".

You can imagine what the farmer made of us - cue much dark muttering about softie townies thinking country life is all a picture postcard...
