It was pre-recorded and he says it was terrifying!

ponygirl · 17/04/2006 09:17

Dh has asked me to point out that he's not Peter Ackroyd! He's on last.

I'm listening!

If he keeps on like this he'll be up for some permanent broadcasting job!

ponygirl · 17/04/2006 09:22

Gosh, I do hope so, Anorak. Though we'd be happy with selling a few more books! He's in a terrible state now, listening, though, so I'm not sure he's got the temperament for it!

I'm impressed that he met Peter Ackroyd!

I love his TV programmes about London. What did he think of him?

anorak · 17/04/2006 09:33

Ta da...here he is...

anorak · 17/04/2006 09:44

I thought he came across very well. Didn't sound nervous at all.

ponygirl · 17/04/2006 09:55

Thank you, anorak. He's torturing himself now about how terrible he thinks it was. I thought he sounded a bit tense, but not as terrified as he claimed to be.

He wasn't very impressed with PA actually, has a rather high opinion of himself. Actually, I met PA a couple of times years ago, and it doesn't sound as though he's changed much!

For those that missed it, it's repeated at 9.30 tonight or is available on Listen Again or Podcast! \link{http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/starttheweek.shtml\Here.}
