Have just trashed one of our alloy wheels trying to park up a curb. Thought it was just a hub cap Blush only for dh to inform me that the whole wheel thing will need replacing.... Anyone done this recently and can tell me how many hundreds its likely to cost ?? Its an audi in case this helps......

Depends on the damage done, we had ours 'touched up' for a lot less than the price of a new one, you may be able to do this??

Look up alloy wheel refurbishing companies... maybe 40 - 50 quid if it's fixable. They can perform miracles. Else a new one from Audi might be £150 - 400 depending on how flash the model / wheel is.

thanks teabelly/hub. As it turned out I was quite lucky as when the damage was inspected on friday morning by dh, he noticed I had also managed to take chunks out the tyres Blush (bear with me on the lucky bit...) so we looked for the spare tyre and found that firstly we had a proper spare tyre, and IT HAD A SPARE ALLOY BIT ON IT !! So, we, being lazy, called out Audi assistance to change tyre and found that at some point the tyre had picked up a nail so that would have gone at some point anyway. The RAC chappy said about getting it touched up too so..... could have all been a lot worse and looks like I might get some easter eggs after all !!

PS - I am honestly normally a good driver, I just had a bit of a dozy moment....
