Jury service question....not sure where to post this

I've been called up to do Jury Service. I've already deferred once because my child was receiving on going medical treatment, but that finishes soon. Can I be excused if I am a fulltime mum to a baby and toddler and have no other relatives living locally to help out? Really worried about it and don't want o leave children with a childminder just for 2 weeks

worth trying. ny dh was excused as he was self employed and sole breadwinner.

When my youngest was a baby I just called them and said I was breastfeeding, which I actually was and they didn't question it, just took my name off straightaway.

I was excused for quite lame reasons really.

First because it was my first week at Uni.

Second because I was going on a music course (National Youth Orchestra of Wales).

They never asked again!!!

Don't know if they're stricter these days, but it's worth giving it a shot.

I am a single mum and was called up when dd was about, well i can't remember!! Just over a year old i think. My request to be exempted was initially denied but I wrote a proper letter of appeal and they then left me alone. my reasons were to do with child care too, esp as dd had never been left with anyone other than me for longer than a couple hours. i was freaking out about it though! (i have to admit though, part of me was hoping i'd be forced to do it, it would've been a nice break and have always been fascinated! Wink)
