I remember when my grandfather died all the houses in the street on the day of the funeral had the curtains shut as a sign of respect. It is my neighbours funeral today (I am going) and I want to show my respect but can I open my curtains now and shut them later (funeral at 2) I do I keep them shut all day? TIA

It happens in Wales as well. And people line the streets as a mark of respect....they did when my dad died, it was amazing. And there were over 400 at the funeral....it was a real comfort to my Mum. I'd keep them closed until after the funeral
